UAE-Syria travel: Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launches direct flights to Damascus

ABU DHABI – Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, the capital’s first low-cost carrier, has officially launched non-stop flights to Damascus, Syria, further expanding its regional network and reaffirming its commitment to affordable air travel across the Middle East.
The inaugural flight was received with a traditional water cannon salute at Damascus International Airport, marking a new chapter of seamless connectivity between the two capital cities.
A welcome ceremony followed the arrival, attended by representatives from Air Arabia, the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, and Damascus International Airport officials. The celebration underscored the significance of the new route in enhancing accessibility and fostering economic ties between Abu Dhabi and Damascus.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction with the launch, stating: “We are glad to launch our direct service between Abu Dhabi and Damascus, a route that complements our existing service from Sharjah and underscores Syria’s importance to Air Arabia’s regional network.”
He added that the expansion reflects the airline’s dedication to offering travellers more choices that combine affordability and convenience, while also aligning with Abu Dhabi’s broader vision to strengthen trade and tourism ties across the region.
Fleet and onboard experience
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi currently operates a modern fleet of 12 Airbus A320 aircraft – the world’s best-selling single-aisle jet. The airline provides a value-driven onboard experience, featuring SkyTime, a complimentary in-flight streaming service, and SkyCafe, an onboard menu offering a variety of meal and snack options.
